Diocesan architect

Diocesan architect or diocesan master builder , more rarely also diocese architect, is the title of architect working in the service of Catholic dioceses , often they have the official title of building director. The diocesan architect is usually also the head of the building administration (building authority) of the respective diocese.

In France, the task of the diocesan architect ( architecte diocésain ) was a state office from 1801 to 1905.
