Thoirette-Coisia is a commune in the French department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the canton of Moirans-en-Montagne in the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier . It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2017 by merging the previous municipalities of Thoirette and Coisia by a decree of December 19, 2016. Since then they have been Communes déléguées . Thoirette is the main town (chief-lieu).

Thoirette-Coisia is the southernmost municipality in the Jura department. The municipality borders on Vosbles-Valfin and Cornod in the west, Lavans-sur-Valouse , Vescles and Condes in the north, Dortan in the northeast, Samognat and Matafelon-Granges in the east and Corveissiat and Aromas in the south.
