Montlainsia is a commune in the French department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs there to the canton of Saint-Amour in the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier . It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2017, when the previous municipalities of Lains , Dessia and Montagna-le-Templier were merged by a decree of May 27, 2016. Lains is the main town (chief lieu). The name of the new municipalities is made up of parts of the three previous municipalities ( Mont agna-le-Templier, Lain s and Des sia ).

geography

The municipal area is crossed in the north by the department road D3. Montlainsia ( Lains ) is about 12 km (as the crow flies) southeast of the canton of Saint-Amour and borders
