Dessia is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Montlainsia with 66 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . Dessia is characterized by agriculture.
The municipality of Dessia bordered Dramelay to the north, Valfin-sur-Valouse to the east and Lains to the west .
history
In 1822 Dessia took over the previous municipality of Granges-de-Dessia.
On January 1, 2017, the Dessia municipality merged with Lains and Montagna-le-Templier to form the new Montlainsia municipality. It belonged to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and the canton of Saint-Amour .
