Rye is a commune in the Jura department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and the canton of Bletterans .

It borders in the south-west on the municipalities of Mouthier-en-Bresse and Beauvernois and thus on the Saône-et-Loire department . The neighboring communities in the Jura department are Les Essards-Taignevaux and Chêne-Bernard in the north, Sergenon in the northeast, and Sergenaux , La Chassagne and Chêne-Sec in the east.
