Location of the canton of Bletterans in the Jura department

The canton Bletterans is a French canton in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It includes 59 communities in the arrondissements of Dole and Lons-le-Saunier and has its main town (French:  bureau centralisateur ) in Bletterans . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Bletterans included the 13 municipalities of Arlay , Bletterans , Chapelle-Voland , Cosges , Desnes , Fontainebrux , Larnaud , Les Repôts , Nance , Quintigny , Relans , Ruffey-sur-Seille and Villevieux . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​140.18 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 3904.
