Location of the canton of Saint-Claude in the Jura department

The District of Saint-Claude is a French canton in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It includes seven communities in the arrondissement of Saint-Claude and has its main town (French:  bureau centralisateur ) in Saint-Claude . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly reduced in size in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton Saint-Claude included the 19 municipalities of Avignon-lès-Saint-Claude , Chassal , Cuttura , La Rixouse , Lajoux , Lamoura , Lavancia-Epercy , Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude , Les Molunes , Leschères , Molinges , Ponthoux , Ravilloles , Saint-Claude , Saint-Lupicin , Septmoncel , Vaux-lès-Saint-Claude , Villard-Saint-Sauveur and Villard-sur-Bienne . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​268.94 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 3926.
