Ravilloles is a commune in the Jura department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
Ravilloles is located at 625 m , about seven kilometers northwest of the city of Saint-Claude (as the crow flies). The village extends in the Jura , slightly elevated on a ledge between the Lison and a side stream, at the southern foot of the Mont de la Bosse.
The area of the 7.79 km² municipality covers a section of the French Jura. The southern part of the municipality is occupied by the Lison basin , which drains the area south to the Bienne . This basin forms the northern continuation of the Plateau du Lizon. It is bounded in the east by the height of the Bois de Cuttura (up to 820 m ). To the northwest, the community area extends into a strongly chambered area, in which several ridges are oriented in the direction south-southwest-north-northeast according to the direction of the Jura and are subdivided by longitudinal valleys or the transverse valley of the Lison. The heights include the Mont de la Bosse ( 900 m ), the Mont Fanfi ( 915 m ) and in the far north of the Bois de la Sourde . The highest elevation of Ravilloles reaches 980 m. The municipality is part of the Regional Nature Park Haut-Jura (French: Parc naturel régional du Haut-Jura ).
Ravilloles includes the hamlet of Sur Montmain ( 880 m ) on the Jura heights west of the village and a few individual farms. Neighboring municipalities of Ravilloles are
- Moirans-en-Montagne and Les Crozets in the north,
- Leschères in the northeast,
- Coteaux du Lizon with Cuttura in the southeast and Saint-Lupicin in the southwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
For a long time, Ravilloles was predominantly a village characterized by agriculture , in particular cattle breeding and dairy farming, as well as forestry. The traditional turnery was mechanized and relocated to factories from 1830. The hydropower of the Lison, which is dammed in two places, was used to generate energy and to operate mills. Today there are some small businesses, including a wood processing company. Many workers are also commuters who work in the larger towns in the area.
The village is well developed in terms of traffic. It is on the D118 departmental road from Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude to Clairvaux-les-Lacs . There are other road connections with Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux and Cuttura .
