The traditional turnery was mechanized and relocated to factories from 1830. The hydropower of the Lison, which is dammed in two places, was used to generate energy and to operate mills. Today there are some small businesses, including a wood processing company. Many workers are also commuters who work in the larger towns in the area.

The village is well developed in terms of traffic. It is on the D118 departmental road from Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude to Clairvaux-les-Lacs . There are other road connections with Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux and Cuttura .
