Chassal-Molinges is a French commune with 1,131 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Claude and the canton of Saint-Lupicin .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities Chassal and Molinges , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Molinges.

geography
The municipality is located about eight kilometers (as the crow flies) west-southwest of the city of Saint-Claude in the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park . The municipal area is crossed by the river Bienne , in whose valley the transport links run through the D 436 département road and the railway line from Oyonnax to Saint-Claude.
