Septmoncel les Molunes is a commune in the French department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the canton of Saint-Lupicin in the arrondissement of Saint-Claude .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2017, when the previous municipalities of Septmoncel and Les Molunes were merged by a decree of December 15, 2016. They have been Communes deleguées ever since . Septmoncel is the main town (chief lieu).
