Huba

According to Gesta Hungarorum, Huba was a Hungarian tribal leader (vezér) who lived in the 9th century. At the time of the Magyar conquest (honfoglalás) in the Carpathian Basin under Grand Duke Árpád , he was one of the legendary seven leaders, the "Seven Magyars" (Hét magyar) . In the traditional order of battle of the Hungarian army, his family provided one of the two wing formations.

The Huba clan belonged to the "White Magyars". She settled in the region of today's cities Győr and Komárom (today divided, the part north of the Danube is in Slovakia and is called Komárno ) in the Lesser Plain (Kisalföld) as well as in today's Nógrád county and in the area around the which today belongs to Slovakia City of Nitra .

Huba is considered to be the ancestor of the Szemere family , which still exists today . and the Hungarian King Béla IV. held high secular and ecclesiastical offices.
