Arlay is a French village with 1,227 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and is divided between the cantons of Bletterans and Poligny . The place is twelve kilometers north of Lons-le-Saunier .

history
Arlay was a seigneurie in the Middle Ages belonging to the line of the House of Chalon who inherited the Principality of Orange .
On January 1, 2016, the municipality of Saint-Germain-lès- Arlay was incorporated into Arlay.
