Frébuans is a French commune in the Jura department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and the canton of Lons-le-Saunier-2 . The neighboring municipalities are Chilly-le-Vignoble in the northeast, Gevingey in the southeast, Trenal in the southwest and Courlaoux in the northwest.

history

From 1790 to 1794 Frébuans gradually took over the previously independent municipality of Saint-Georges. Around 300 people lived in the now expanded district.
