Josephine Joseffy , also Josefine Josephi ( February 13, 1870 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary - after 1926 ) was an Austrian actress both in the theater and in silent films .

Life

After she turned to the stage, barely 16 years old, and began her acting career in Teschen , she was engaged in the founding of the German People's Theater in 1889 . She worked there in the youth field as well as in that of serious mothers, in which she offered many effective achievements. Her roles are "The old woman Rosenhagen", "Weschkalene" in "Johannisfeuer", "The poor woman" in "Fallen Angels", "Frau Kutschenreiter" in "Blitzmädel", "Crescenz" in the "Perjury", "Cook" mentioned in "Der Spatz" etc. Joseffy, who played even the smallest role correctly, was a very useful actress and she got mothers as well as dashing maids, salon ladies and dashing peasant dirndls .

Her life after 1902 is relatively unknown. She reappeared in various Austrian silent films in 1914, mainly under Jakob Fleck and Luise Kolm . She died after 1926.
