To the east, the Ain River forms the border with Lect and Chancia . The other neighboring communities are Condes , Thoirette-Coisia with Coisia , Lavans-sur-Valouse , Arinthod and Cernon .

In 1822 Vescles took over the previous communities of Boutavant, Chenilla and Rupt.
