Lavans-sur-Valouse is a village in the French commune of Saint-Hymetière-sur-Valouse and a former municipality last 146 inhabitants (at January 1, 2016) in the Jura department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belonged to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and the canton of Moirans-en-Montagne .

The municipality of Lavans-sur-Valouse merged with Saint-Hymetière , Chemilla and Cézia on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Saint-Hymetière-sur-Valouse.

geography

Lavans-sur-Valouse is about 40 kilometers northeast of Bourg-en-Bresse . To the west, the Valouse River formed the border with Vosbles-Valfin . The other neighboring communities in clockwise direction were Chemilla , Cézia , Arinthod , Vescles , Thoirette-Coisia and Cornod .
