Thoirette is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Thoirette-Coisia with 667 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .

On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Thoirette merged with Coisia to form the new municipality of Thoirette-Coisia. It belonged to the arrondissement of Lons-le-Saunier and the canton of Moirans-en-Montagne .

The city's most famous son was the anatomist, physiologist and surgeon Xavier Bichat .
