Diagonal pump

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The diagonal pump is a constructive intermediate form of a radial pump and an axial pump .

function

With a diagonal pump, the pumped medium emerges from the impeller diagonally, i.e. at an angle to the pump shaft. The delivery angle of the impeller can be designed depending on the requirement, so that the pump is not necessarily something in between, but is designed in the entire range from radial to axial and is therefore tailored to the application in terms of properties. This results in impellers with mostly smaller but clearly conical plates with larger-surface blades than would be the case with pure radial pumps.
