Diaconal working group of Protestant churches
The Charitable Association of Protestant Churches is a body for cooperation between the Diakonie with the Protestant work on Diakonia and Development brought together altkonfessionellen churches and free churches .
history
On November 12, 1952, the basis for diaconal cooperation was initially created between the Evangelical Relief Organization of the EKD and the Central Committee of the Association of Evangelical Free Churches. With the establishment of the World Council of Churches at the world level and the Working Group of Christian Churches in Germany, binding structures for cooperation were found and steadily expanded. In 1984 this working group became an unincorporated association in the Diakonisches Werk of the EKD. In 1991 it was merged with the Diaconal Working Group of Protestant Free Churches in the GDR .

The Diaconal Working Group has set itself the task of agreeing and coordinating joint diaconal tasks among the members.
