The Diamond Lake (Ukrainian Алмазне озеро / Almasne Osero ) is one of the largest lakes in the urban area of the Ukrainian capital Kiev .
The lake with a maximum depth of 35 m is located in the northeast of the city in Desna Rajon and was created in the 1980s from the former quarry number 6, which was flooded with water after its closure. The lake, which is largely surrounded by a pine forest, is fed by a tributary of the Dnepr, into which it flows, and is used as a recreational area for fishing, cycling and relaxation.
