The adventurers (booklet)

The Adventurers - In Search of the Earth's Last Riddles was a booklet series from Bastei Verlag , which appeared in 38 issues in 1992 and 1993. It is about the experiences of a group of semi-professional archaeologists who, working for an organization called AIM, come across a trail to Atlantis that is scattered around the world. Models of the series were u. a. Indiana Jones and the stories of classic pulp hero Doc Savage . However, there are also extensive references in the texts. a. on Twin Peaks , The Blues Brothers and much more.

The authors of the booklet were u. a. Hubert H. Simon and Robert de Vries , Wolfgang Hohlbein wrote as a guest author .

The plot of the series was structured cyclically. Due to the abrupt end of the series of magazines, the first cycle of 'Adventurers' only came to an end in paperback reprints by Bastei Verlag, which were published from 1996 and provided with additional final chapters. A second cycle ran from 2003 in 14 volumes as a hardcover edition by Zaubermond Verlag .

Crossover

Characters in the series made guest appearances in the Bastei book series Dino-Land and Trucker-King in the early 1990s . In 2011, the character of the destroyer, described for the first time in issue 20 of the adventurers, played a leading role in various Maddrax magazines. At the end of 2011, the 12-issue mini-series started in 2012 , which is intended to link the cosmos of Die Abenteurer and Maddrax .
