Work in the Ark community

The ark is a communitarian community. It was founded in France in 1948 by Lanza del Vasto , one of Mahatma Gandhi's most important European students . The foundations of living together in communities are service and sharing, striving to lead a simple life, respect for life and nonviolence . The founder's aim was to implement Gandhi's ideals in a European context. The Arche community thus became an important source of inspiration for the peace movement in Western Europe.
