The Bluffers was a Dutch animated series that was broadcast on German television on Tele 5 from 1989 . The series thematizes in a child-friendly way the necessity of environmental protection for the continued existence of our planet. The series is characterized above all by the diverse musical background.
The story takes place on the formerly flourishing planet Blufoonia , which is transformed into a barren industrial landscape by the evil tyrant Clandestino and his robots. From the last part of the planet not yet affected by the destruction of the environment, the animals of the Clandestinos forest try to thwart plans. The animals include the squirrel Zip, the wise owl Zock, the fox Sharpy, and the simple-minded bear Honeyboy, around whose head some honey bees are always circling. Clandestino spends most of the time with his robot butler Sillycone and his dog Glum in his castle, where he wants to hide his secret from the bluffers.
