The Dekana (h) tlose
The Dekana (h) tlosen was a church cabaret group from Dresden , which existed from 1968 to 2013. It was the only group in the GDR that was allowed to perform satire on church issues. After the fall of the Wall , Die Dekana (h) tlosen also became known in West Germany , among other things through appearances at the Katholikentage in 1992 and 1994. Today they are among the best-known church cabaret groups.
In May 1968 the first presentation of the Dekana (h) tlosen took place on the initiative of the then Catholic diocesan youth pastor Dieter Grande . Since then, the artistic direction has been with Gisela Grube, long-time member and veteran of the cabaret Die Herkuleskeule in Dresden. The line-up changed frequently over the years. A total of 12 women and 14 men and 5 pianists have played and made music with the Dekana (h) tlose . From the original line-up, only Ursula Jurk was there until the end. In 45 years there were around 800 performances at 150 venues across Germany.
On November 30, 2013, the group broke up after a last appearance in Dresden.
