The Vogelwarte - Zeitschrift für Vogelkunde is a specialist journal for ornithology and is published jointly by the German Ornithological Society and the German Ornithological Society (DO-G). It is the "official organ" of the DO-G.

The "Vogelwarte" is the continuation of the magazines Der Vogelzug (1930–1943) and Die Vogelwarte (1948–2004). She publishes articles from all areas of ornithology, including avifaunistics and ringing. In addition to the original work, abstracts of dissertations in the field of ornithology, news and deadlines, reports from the ringing centers and media reviews are published. As the official organ of the German Ornithological Society, the journal publishes reports and communications from the society.

Editor and editor

The editorship lies with a team of currently four editors who are appointed by the editors. The editors are currently (05/2017):
