Die Wacht im Osten was a daily Austrian military newspaper published in Soldau and Danzig during the First World War between 1915 and 1918 . She ran the sideline field newspaper of the Army Department Scheffer . A supplement of the guard in the East was the German Kriegszeitung of Baranovichi .

The German war newspaper von Baranowitschi appeared twice a week in Vienna between 1916 and 1918 . From 1917 to 1918 it was only called von Baranowitschi's wartime newspaper . It was seldom longer than six pages and mainly contained war reports from the Eastern Front. A supplement also contained jokes and pictures in autotype and line etching.
