The military force decomposers
The Wehrkraftzersetzer (often abbreviated as WKZ ) are a German punk band from Ludwigshafen am Rhein .
history
The band Grauschleier is regarded as the forerunner of WKZ. The group has existed under the name WKZ since 1984. Other groups such as Toxoplasma or Schleim-Keim served as models .
In the first few years a split EP with FOH ( The Order ) and the debut LP Echte Punx were released. In addition, a song by WKZ appeared on the sampler Kulturschockattacke Vol. 1 . The best-known piece of the group is the song Poison and Galle .
In the years 1988-1994 the members of WKZ devoted themselves to a new English-language project under the name Memento Mori, before they resurrected WKZ at the end of 1994.
With both bands they have now released several albums and in addition to the official discography, WKZ were also featured on the two samplers Street Attack Vol. 4 and Street Attack Vol. 5 .
In their later works, WKZ increasingly developed into more melodic songs with self-deprecating lyrics.
Apart from the last few years, the history of the band was also marked by frequent changes of musicians. Only the drummer Michael Volkmer is still there from the founding line- up. The other members of the current formation are Jochen "Delle" Dell (vocals), Roman Dirgelas (guitar), Matthias "Mateo" Herrmann (bass, vocals) and Tschogy McWolf (keyboard).
