The wasp or the sting of the wasp (original title: The Wasp ) is a science fiction novel by Eric Frank Russell published in 1957 .

content

Humanity is at war with aliens and trains agents who are smuggled onto the planets of the enemy. Since the aliens are just a different color than humans and their language has many different dialects , this is not difficult.

In different stages it is described how the wasp in a one-man guerrilla war causes an overreaction of the authorities with stings . A couple of leaflets here and there, a couple of murders bought with counterfeit money , and in the imagination a man becomes an entire underground organization that keeps a whole machine busy, which can no longer take care of the defense of the planet.

Although the wasp keeps getting into sticky situations, the plan finally works and humans can conquer the planet.
