The Zillerthaler

Die Zillerthaler is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 30). The work was performed for the first time on August 5, 1846, at the Tyrolean Festival, Klein-Tivoli, Obermeidling (Vienna) not far from Schönbrunn Palace.

Remarks

The waltz pays homage to the inhabitants of the Zillertal in Tyrol. The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 8 minutes and 22 seconds. Depending on the musical conception of the conductor, this time can change by up to a minute plus or minus.
