Emma, Ivan Dollybutt and Ivan's best friend Conrad want to go on vacation with their great-uncle Lancelot. Surprisingly, he picks them up in a hot air balloon, the Belladonna, and takes them to various places on earth. The balloon contains sleeping cabins, a garden, a laboratory and countless animals.
