The Lost Islands ( The Lost Islands ) is the title of an Australian television series. The ZDF beamed 25 of 26 episodes of the adventure series from April to October 1977 from the first time. The children's and youth series was repeated by ZDF from September 1982 to February 1983. The theme song of the German series version is sung by Bruce Low .
content
The ship United World gets into distress with a youth group. While most of the crew were able to save themselves with the boats, five young people remained on the ship. In the storm and its high swell, the ship drifts into a lagoon from which it cannot free itself because of the coral reef. The five teenagers are stranded.
The Q people, the descendants of shipwrecked people and ruled by the tyrant Q, have lived on the island for 200 years. An elixir is said to give Q immortality so that it has lived since the beginning of settlement.
When Q learns of the presence of the children, he orders them to be caught and killed. The young people manage to make friends with some of the locals, including Jeremiah Quizzle, the Q's personal servant. The five children have various adventures together with their friends.
Q always wears a purple cloak. His face is never seen in the series and is partially covered with a dark mask.
people
The five young people come from different countries, although the German dubbing in episode 7 sometimes names different countries than the original for an unknown reason (see cast list, original in brackets). The Q people, on the other hand, are all originally from England.
The islands
Tambu
The island has a diameter of six kilometers. Essential locations are the Q's secret abode, his secret camp, the valley of the inhabitants, the volcano with its caves and the swamp with the river.
The Q people, with the exception of the guards, are not allowed to leave the valley.
The swamp is guarded by the spirits of the dead. Because of the superstition, the guards do not dare to go there, so the United World is hidden there. Helen and Jason Quinn also have a tree house there.
Malo
Malo is the penal island to which many male residents are exiled. The main part is the lagoon, where the prisoners have to harvest the blue plants that grow underwater there. The Q derives its elixir from them. The rest of the island is an inhospitable volcanic landscape.
Episodes
Episode 15 was neither dubbed nor shown on television in Germany. The DVD contains the episode in the original with subtitles. There are also a few additional seconds in episode 16 in which German is spoken in the original English - Jane Vallis even without an accent.

Sexualization
The series is slightly sexualized for the social conditions of the 1970s.
Bras can be seen through clothing, half-buttoned and raised skirts or nipples squeezing through pullovers, as well as glimpses into necklines. In episode 15, white underpants can be seen under a white dress for several seconds.
Sunnyboy Tony also takes off his shirt more often; in one episode, part of his underpants is visible when bending over.
