Dies judaicus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dies judaicus (“Judaism Day”) is a memorial day of the Roman Catholic Church that has been held in Switzerland since 2011. Similar memorial days have already been held in Italy, Austria, Poland and the Netherlands. The day of remembrance is held on the second Sunday of Lent (Reminiscere) and is intended to remind of the bond between Christianity and Judaism.

The Seelisberg theses formulated in 1947 are a “foundation stone for the international dialogue between Judaism and Christianity as for the Council Declaration Nostra Aetate (1965)” and thus ultimately for the dies judaicaus .

The recommendations for commemorating and including liturgical elements on this day are not binding on parishes.
