Dieter Bender (economist)

Dieter Bender (born October 7, 1942 in Wiesbaden ) is a German economist .

career

Dieter Bender studied at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz Economics . After completing his doctorate and habilitation , he became a professor of economics at the University of Essen before accepting a professorship for international economic relations at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In research and teaching, Bender is particularly interested in the use of classic and newer Keynesian models .

Dieter Bender has been a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Development Research and Development Policy at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2001 and is actively involved in teaching and supervising doctoral students at the institute.

Bender was one of the signatories of the Euro-critical manifesto The Monetary Policy Decisions of Maastricht: A Danger for Europe (1992) and the Hamburg Appeal (2005).
