Diethard Adt

Diethard Adt (* 1939 in Saarbrücken ) is a German graphic artist and former rector of the Saar College of Fine Arts .

Life

Adt studied from 1962 to 1966 at the Staatliche Werkkunstschule Saarbrücken with Oskar Holweck and graphics with Robert Sessler . In 1963/64 he passed the commercial and technical master's examination in the graphic industry and became a master typographer. In 1964 he founded an advertising agency with others and was the agency's art director until 1968. He then switched to a printing company, where he was technical director and creative director until 1971, before founding a design and typo studio. In 1977 he worked in his own agency for corporate identity and advertising.

In the same year Adt became professor for visual communication at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences and was professor for communication design at HBKsaar from 1989 to 2004, and from 2001 to 2004 also rector of the art school.

Among other things, Adt designed the Saarbergwerke logo .
