Dietmar Roth

Dietmar Roth (born September 16, 1963 in Germersheim ) is a former German soccer player .

In his youth Dietmar Roth played for FV Liedolsheim and from 1979 for Karlsruher SC . After moving to the seniors, he initially joined the KSC amateur team. For the 1983/84 season Roth received a professional contract and came under coach Werner Olk in the preliminary round for first inserts, in the second half of the season he became a regular in the Karlsruhe defense. The KSC rose to the Bundesliga after this season, and Roth was able to prevail here too and came to 31 games this season. When the club was relegated after just one season, Roth moved to FC Schalke 04 and in 1987 to Eintracht Frankfurt , where he stayed for ten years. In his first season at Eintracht, he won the cup with his new club.

Between 1983 and 2001 he played 318 Bundesliga games (5 goals) for Karlsruher SC, Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt, 28 second division games (0 goals) for Karlsruher SC, Eintracht Frankfurt and Kickers Offenbach and 33 regional league games (1 goal) for FSV Frankfurt and Kickers Offenbach.

Roth was temporarily active as a coach at the Rudi Völler football school in Cala Millor on Mallorca. In August 2013, the father of two daughters suffered a stroke that affected the language center and has been paralyzed on his right side since. He had to have several head operations and has been physically disabled ever since.
