In the following year he was appointed to the German A-squad of active players and also beat the German bench press record there at the World Cup. In the following years he won the German championship in powerlifting from 2002 to 2006 and acquired numerous other national and international titles. At the German three-way championship in 2004, Zint set the highest total three-way weight ever shown by a German-speaking athlete with 1052 kg and also set a new bench press world record with 291 kg. A film was published of the training that took place under the title "Dietmar Zint - 1052".

Zint trained three times a week and weighed an average of 137-144 kg with a height of 183 cm. His upper arm measured 57 cm at its best and his thigh was 87 cm in circumference.

Zint has largely withdrawn from professional sport since 2007 and is now head of a district insurance company. He also has a few advertising and media appearances, such as in 2008 on the television show "Guinness World Records - The Greatest World Records".
