Dietrich Behrendt

Dietrich Behrendt (born August 26, 1928 in Buchholz ; † February 26, 1975 ; also Dieter Behrendt ) was a German history teacher .

In 1957, Dietrich Behrendt became a research assistant in the methodology department of history teaching at the Potsdam University of Education , where he was entrusted with teaching in 1964/65. In 1965 he became a research assistant at the Pedagogical Institute of the Technical University of Dresden . Behrendt received his doctorate in February 1966 in Potsdam with a thesis on basic questions of the unity of knowledge and conceptual work in history lessons. Shown using the example of the material unit 'primitive society' in 5th grade , reviewers were Bruno Gentner and Bernhard Stohr . From September 1967 he was a lecturer for the methodology of history lessons in Dresden and head of the history methodology department there. He was also a member of the History Teaching Commission at the GDR Ministry of Public Education and the Scientific Council of the Institute for Didactics at the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences in the GDR .

From 1970 Behrendt was part of the editorial team of the magazine Geschichtsunterricht und Staatsbürgerkunde . The PhD B took place in January 1975 with the work investigations into the relationship between central requirements and creative work of the teacher with special consideration of the relationships between curriculum - textbook - teaching aids. Shown using the example of history lessons and especially class 5 , reviewers were Edgar Drefenstedt , Heinz Lehmann and Bruno Gentner. Behrendt died a month later. He was mainly responsible for drafting the curricula and textbooks for history lessons in the 5th grade in the GDR towards the end of the 1960s.
