Digital guest directory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A digital guest directory , or a digital concierge , is a software solution that provides a hotel guest with hotel information as well as digital services. The digital guest folder replaces the classic information folder in the hotel room. Due to the digital transformation of the hotel industry, digital guest folders are used more and more frequently in hotels.

There are different forms of digital guest folders. For example, they are based on smartphones or tablet computers . There are systems that work on guests' devices and systems that explicitly require the hotel's own hardware, for example in the form of tablets in the rooms.

For the hotel classification , the criteria of guest information, radio, TV program, newspapers, magazines and internet access with the tablet can be recognized.

Range of functions

The functional scope of digital guest folders differs depending on the developer - it usually contains:

  • Hotel information
  • Booking tool for hotel offers
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • radio
  • Internet access
  • Message functions such as chat or push messages
  • Connection to PMS
  • Environment information

The software service provider Betterspace and the manufacturer of POS systems Gastrofix have also developed a possibility for self-ordering with the digital guest directory.
