The Dilldorfer Schule was a Catholic elementary school in the Essen district of Kupferdreh , district of Dilldorf (Oslenderstraße 36b).

history

The school was inaugurated on November 10, 1933 and the building was completed in 1935. At the end of the Second World War , there were no more regular classes. The school was evacuated, like most schools in Essen at the time. The school building was occupied by soldiers during the war years. Some children therefore attended schools in the surrounding communities. After the war, lessons were initially held for Dilldorf students at the Deilbach School. In 1948 the Dilldorf School could be moved into again and remained Catholic until 1968. Until then, Protestant students had attended the Deilbach School. In 1968 the school became a municipal community elementary school.

Due to the falling number of pupils, the city of Essen decided to give up the school on August 1, 2010. As a result, it was closed shortly before her 77th birthday. The location of the former primary school now serves as a branch of the Hinsbeck School and was available as asylum accommodation for a certain period of time.

The City Council of Essen decided on April 25, 2018 to reopen the school in 2020. The reason for this is the increasing number of students registering.
