Disodium cocoamphodiacetate

Disodium cocoamphodiacetate ( INCI designation disodium cocoamphodiacetate ), and cocoamphocarboxyglycinate , is a synthetic amphoteric surfactant from the group of imidazoline derivatives . It is a disodium salt, or more precisely a alkylamido alkylamine on coconut - fatty acid base .

As an amphoteric surfactant, disodium cocoamphodiacetate has, depending on whether its environment is basic or acidic , anionic or cationic properties and thus remains stable even in strongly acidic or alkaline solutions. The substance was assigned the ELINCS number 931-291-0 and the CAS number 68650-39-5.

use

The substance is used in particular in the field of cosmetics , especially as a cosurfactant in shower gels , foam baths and shampoos . Even in sea or hard water it still has good foam-forming properties and behaves hydrotropically .

Disodium cocoamphodiacetate is considered a mild surfactant and is also used as a hair conditioner and skin care substance .
