The dinosaur land Rügen was opened by Rüdiger Kunkel on April 30, 2008 on a 9.5 hectare former site of the National People's Army . It belongs to the municipality of Glowe and is located near the districts of Spycker and Bobbin on Spycker See .

The focus of the park is on the presentation of modeled dinosaurs, each with a descriptive board. In addition, models of prehistoric fish, marine mammals and a few water turtles, hominids , mammoths and saber-toothed tigers are presented.

The models are made of glass fiber reinforced plastics (GRP) and are manufactured manually. At the time of the opening, around 100 of these models were exhibited on an approximately 800-meter-long tour. The largest model has a height of twelve meters and a length of 27 meters and represents a diplodocus . At the beginning of 2009 the tour was extended to around 1100 meters with around 120 exhibits. This extension includes marine life in particular.

The park also offers various activities, such as the playful exposure of a dinosaur skeleton using shovels and brushes, as well as the search for fossils in remains from the chalk mining.
