Dionne Bromfield (born February 1, 1996 in London ) is a British soul singer.

biography

Dionne Bromfield took private singing lessons when she was ten. A year later she sang to her godmother, the soul singer Amy Winehouse . She accepted the eleven-year-old into her then newly founded label Lioness and established contact with producer Jon Moon. Accompanied by Winehouse's tour musicians, Bromfield recorded an album with covers of popular black music hits of the 1960s and early 1970s at the age of twelve .

In October 2009 she performed her version of Mama Said , a 1961 hit by The Shirelles , on the show Strictly Come Dancing with Amy Winehouse as a stage accompanist. The song went into the UK charts at the same time as the debut album Introducing Dionne Bromfield .
