Dirk Johannes van Haaren (born April 21, 1878 in Amsterdam ; † June 30, 1953 there ) was a Dutch painter .

Dirk Johannes van Haaren lived and worked in Amsterdam and in Sloten , North Holland. He was self-taught and painted watercolors and oil paintings. He is seen as the successor to the Hague School . His works include landscape paintings, which often depict water, windmills and cattle, views of the city of Amsterdam and horses with riders.

He was a member of several artists' associations, including Arti et Amicitiae and St. Lucas , both in Amsterdam.
