The Dirty Sox Graz are a baseball club from the Styrian capital Graz .

history

The association was founded in May 1991. In 1992, the Sox won the runner-up in the Styrian regional league. In 1993 they played in the federal stadium in Graz- Liebenau , won the Styrian championship and got promoted to Bundesliga 2. In the years between 1996 and 2011 the association used the Sox Field in Graz- Straßgang . In 2005 the club reached seventh place in the Austrian Baseball League. In 2006 the Sox entered into a syndicate with the Diving Ducks Wr.Neustadt. Since Sox Field had to give way to a residential area, the Austrian Baseball Federation did not issue a Bundesliga baseball license. That's why the Sox weren't allowed to get promoted to the baseball league. The Graz team remained without a venue for another four years. That's why there were only away games. The club has been playing in the Graz-Weinzödl training center since the 2015 season. As a result, there were home games again after almost four years. At the end of the game year the Sox reached second place in the Regionalliga Mitte. In the spring of 2019, they switched to Ballpark Graz Nord across the street.
