The Höxter district was an administrative unit of the former Fulda department of the former Kingdom of Westphalia . The district had a demarcation similar to that of today's Höxter district .

history

The Höxter district existed between 1807 and 1813. It consisted of 16 cantons or 116 municipalities or 18 cities, a suburb, 105 villages, 28 hamlets and 43 scattered apartments with a total of 10,793 fire pits (residential units). The area of ​​the district was 21¾ square miles or 60¼ square lieu. 3,097 inhabitants lived on one square mile. In 1811 there were 66,070 inhabitants in the district, 32,550 of them male and 33,520 female. The number of religious members was 57,070 among the Catholics, 2,690 among the Lutherans, 4,403 among the Reformed and 1,647 among the Israelites.

The arrondissement comprised the cantons of Albaxen , Beverungen , Bodenwerder , Borgentreich , Brackel , Driburg , Dringenberg , Gehrden , Höxter , Lüdge , Nieheim , Peckelsheim , Rösebeck , Steinheim , Trendelburg , Vörden and Warburg .
