Dits et Ecrits (French: Dits et écrits ) is a four-volume edition of texts by the French philosopher Michel Foucault . The work published by François Ewald and Daniel Defert at Gallimard in 1994 brings together all of Foucault's texts published during his lifetime, with the exception of his books. The German translation was done in 2003 by Michael Bischoff , Hans-Dieter Gondek , Hermann Kocyba and Jürgen Schröder at Suhrkamp Verlag .

According to Foucault's request, the editors only published material that the philosopher had already published during his lifetime. They collected a total of 364 texts, which they printed in chronological order. These are texts of various genres such as forewords, newspaper articles, interviews, letters, many of which were previously difficult to access.

The publication caused quite a stir in France, with four pages in Le Monde full of reviews and comments.
