Diversity Link System

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Data Link Switching System (DLS) is a technical device that is also used in model aircraft construction, which allows a higher level of transmission security for the control commands through redundant , i.e. multiple design of the receiving system.

As with antenna diversity , not only two transmit / receive antennas are used for additional transmission security, but also two identical receivers that are connected to one another via an interface cable. The antennas of both receivers are installed as perpendicular to one another as possible in the model. This guarantees that in the event that one of the two receivers does not receive a valid signal, the second receiver then receives the control commands (the receive / transmit power of an antenna is directional , i.e. not the same from all directions). The stronger signals are always passed on to the receiver with the poorer reception via the interface cable. The two recipients are equivalent.
