Division I (chess) 1975/76

The 1975/76 season was the 7th season of the Allsvenskan in chess.

Events

The competitions of the preliminary round took place on October 19, November 16 and 30, 1975, January 18, February 8 and 29 and March 21, 1976. The final tournament was played from March 26 to 28, 1976.

Division I Norra

In the northern season, the first four places were close together, and in the end Vällingby Schacksällskap and SK Rockaden Stockholm occupied the two qualifying places for the final tournament before Upsala ASS and Wasa SK, which had been promoted from Division II last year . The reigning Swedish champion Solna Schacksällskap only reached fifth place, the climber from Division II Jakobsberg Schacksällskap and Södra SS had to relegate .

Division I Södra

The southern season again won the Lunds ASK , the second place in the final tournament secured the Lundby Schacksällskap with one point ahead of the Limhamns SK . The second team of Limhamns SK and SK Kamraterna Trollhättan had risen from Division II . While Trollhättan achieved relegation, Limhamn's second team had to relegate together with Schacksällskapet Manhem , who had taken part in the final tournament the previous year.
