The tournament was divided into a preliminary round and a final round. The eight participating teams first played a simple round-robin tournament . The first four played for the title in Poule Haute , the last four in Poule Basse against relegation. The total of the team points (2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat), then the direct comparison and finally the number of board points (3 points for a win, 2 points for a Draw, 1 point for a loss, 0 points for a loss without a fight). For the final placement, both the points from the preliminary round and the points from the final round were taken into account.
Game dates
The competitions were held on October 16 and 23, November 20, December 11, 2011, January 8 and 29, February 12, March 11 and 25 and April 22, 2012.
Dudelange had taken over the best starting conditions from the preliminary round with 14: 0 points and three points ahead. After the opening win, the lead increased to four points, as Echternach defeated Differdange. In the penultimate round, Dudelange was defeated by Echternach with 13:19, but this was enough to win the title early, since in the preliminary round Dudelange won against Echternach with 20:12 and thus won the direct comparison in the overall standings.
