Docaviv is an international documentary film festival in Tel Aviv , Israel . It is organized by the non-profit organization of the same name, which was founded in 1998. In 2015 it will be held for the 16th time, and in recent years it has been visited by around 40,000 spectators. Among the 80 or so films, prizes are awarded for the best Israeli film, a special jury prize, best directorial debut, best camera, best editing, best research, best international film and a special jury prize for international films, and there is one Special competition for film students. The total prize money is 2,015 in 5000 dollars . An "offshoot" is organized as Docaviv Galilee in Maʿalot-Tarshiha .
